Remember Your Self Worth

self-worthAs an adult, it’s easy to slip into a few bad habits – especially as we get older. Routinely eliminating “me” time is one of them, as is not making regular trips to the dentist or putting your health on the back-burner. But there’s one thing that we all do that puts quite a strain on our lives: compare ourselves to others.

You’ve been there. Your friend’s husband gets a big promotion, and their entire life is “upgraded” as a result. Maybe your sister moves into a bigger home in a nicer neighborhood. Or your neighbor joins a gym and loses 20 pounds. All of these are great things for the people in your life. So why do you feel so…discouraged? That one’s easy.

When you compare yourself to others, you are creating an environment rife for resentment and sadness. You are no longer grateful for what’s happening in your life and can only focus on where you are lacking. change-is-comingI don’t know you personally, but I have an idea who you are. You’re a parent, and your children mean the world to you. You are a professional, and you want your job to feed you both literally and figuratively. You are committed to creating a better, more fulfilling life and you know that a part of that means improving the financial situation you are currently in.

And I know one more thing about you: you may be ready to make a change. A big change. One that will take you on a journey towards the life of you dreams.

I get it. I’ve been there.
